Business of Design Week (BODW)

Referred to as "one of the most significant annual events on the international design calendar," BODW, Asia's leading design event on innovation, design and brand, attracts the best of the global design world to Hong Kong.

More than 50,000 participants and over 100 of the world's most iconic designers, business leaders and educators attend BODW to share their success stories, exchange ideas, and network in an event nobody can afford to miss. The goal of BODW is to encourage businesses to unleash the power of design by focusing on the vital relationship and complex interplay between design and business.

Who Should Attend BODW 2008?

When and Where?

For one week every year, BODW assembles the largest collection of world-class designers and corporate titans under the same roof. As Asia's premier event for inspiration-seekers BODW is truly an eye-opening experience, with unrivalled business matching opportunities, and an unparalleled occasion to glimpse every aspect of the business of design.

BODW continues to be one of the premier design events in the world; its continuously expanding fan base and growing reputation are testament not only to the organisation of the event but also to the unsurpassed number and impressive array of design practitioners and business leaders who attend.

Over the course of the week-long programme we host the BODW Forum which is by far the most significant design and business conference in Asia, as well as the HKDC Annual Award Gala Dinner, always an all-star highlight event.

This year at BODW there is an amazing selection of thought provoking conferences with themes ranging from "Quake Solutions" and how design and innovation can help places like the Sichuan region of China to recover from major disasters; to the US$2.5 billion West Kowloon Cultural District Project to develop a flagship destination for arts and culture in Hong Kong.

The Netherlands is the partner country for BODW 2008. Dutch design is internationally reputed for its innovative, daring approach and modern appearance. It is characterised by distinctive form, a high degree of user-friendliness and the application of new technologies in a sustainable manner. Exploring the theme of "Open Minds," BODW 2008 seeks to contribute to further strengthening the position of Chinese and international creative sectors through sharing the successes of Dutch design.
